Pink berries whole (Schinus Trerebinthilifolius)
Red or pink peppercorns are fully ripe fruits. Their skin is soft and their taste is fine, almost sweet and fruity. The inner core produces a mild, persistent spiciness. In general, the aroma of pepper is determined by its proportion of essential oils, its spiciness by the proportion of the alkaloid piperine. Even though they do not directly belong to the pepper family, the berries are still often used to sharpen and refine dishes in the kitchen.
Use:
You can use pink berries to enhance soups and sauces, but they are also particularly good for garnishing, adding to salads and even adding to desserts.
Storage:
Pink berries should be stored in a cool, dry and ideally airtight place to retain their intense aroma for a particularly long time.
