The spice is found in the roots of the ginger plant, which belongs to the spice lily family. Ginger has a lemony, spicy taste. The root is dried, bleached, peeled and ground as a baking spice.
Use:
Fresh ginger is often used in Asian cuisine and goes well with many dishes. The whole dried root can be ground up and used to make tea. We recommend adding 1 tablespoon to a large cup and then letting the liquid steep for 10 minutes. The ground ginger can also be ground up and used in many dishes.

Storage:
Ginger should be stored in a cool, dry and ideally airtight place to retain its intense aroma for a particularly long time.
