Rose hips are hard and covered with small spines or hairs. The inner flesh of the rose hip is protected by the rose hip shell.\u003cbr\u003e The culinary use of rosehip shells is varied. The dried rosehip shells are often made into rosehip tea in combination with hibiscus or other fruit teas. Fresh rosehips are used as a spread. Both fresh rosehips and dried rosehip shells are used to make rosehip jam and other culinary products.\u003cbr\u003e In terms of taste, rosehip peels are described as slightly sour, refreshing and particularly aromatic.
